Misc Destination
HIVE: Misc Destination
The Misc Destination feature is used for defining destinations that can be used elsewhere in the HIVE when configuring call routing. Most commonly this is used to define and outside phone number (such as an answering service) that you can later use when setting up call flow as a destination, such as by having a ring group send callers to this defined destination if there is no answer. This is a terminal destination meaning that when callers are sent here, they are sent directed to the "dial" number defined with no ring time or
alternate "destination if no answer" like other applications within the HIVE. One important aspect to note, when a caller is sent here, the defined "dial" will be run as if coming directly from the system, meaning caller ID information is stripped and, if the "dial" number is an external phone number, the systems trunk or outbound settings will be honored and caller ID on the ensuing call will show as coming from the system. This will most commonly result in the receiving party seeing this call as coming from the main phone number of the system the Misc Destination is setup on. If you want the original caller's caller ID displaying to the external number, another option should be used such as a ring group instead of a Misc Destination.
Option to "Add Misc Destination" and a list of present Misc Destinations are displayed at the top right side of the screen.
Misc Destination settings are displays on the left side of the screen
Delete Misc Destination: <description>: This button will delete the Misc Destination you're viewing and remove it from the system.
Used as Destination for <#> Object: This will display showing the number of other system features that have statically configured this Misc Destination as a destination (ring groups, inbound routes, etc). You can view a list of the specific destinations it's reference by hovering your mouse over the light blue dot just to the right of this alert.
Edit Misc Destination
Description: (Default: <blank>) Text entered here will be used as the name for this Misc Destination and display in the list at the top right of the screen.
Dial: (Default: <blank>) Information here will be what is dialed when a caller is routed here. This should be entered exactly as you would dial it from an internal phone. That being said, you can enter a variety of options here including external phone numbers, internal extensions and even feature codes such as a call flow toggle code, follow me toggle, intercom codes and more.
